Strategic Account Director (US)

They help vendors capture and leverage the authentic product feedback in the most comprehensive way to help buyers when conducting research or making purchase decisions, as well as helping vendors use their voice of customer insights in other educational ways throughout their business.


Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Strategic Account Director’s primary objective is to meet or exceed sales goals within a set of strategic accounts. Using a consultative approach, you will determine customer needs and provide them with business solutions while bringing previous industry knowledge to the team.  You will lead a high-value portfolio of clients and be responsible for the growth, management, retention, and satisfaction of these accounts in partnership with Customer Success.

  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive account plan

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through outreach, networking, and social media

  • Utilize SPIN selling techniques to identify client problems and offer solutions

  • Create and execute key sales and business development initiatives to increase sales pipeline

  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs

  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around our offerings to prepare and deliver appropriate proposals that accurately describe those products and set proper expectations

  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors

  • Manage contract negotiations

  • Participate in exhibitions, conferences, and onsite client meetings on behalf of the company

  • Negotiate and close deals by handling rebuttals and objections


  • 3-5+ years of sales  experience in Technology, Demand Generation, Digital Media, Voice of Customer, and integrated marketing campaigns

  • Proven seller of $2-5M campaigns

  • Strategic seller with 3+ years of experience with larger, comprehensive deals

  • Experience finding budget holders inside enterprise tech organizations

  • Knowledge of the current and evolving digital media and demand generation landscapes

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach

  • Competitive mentality and a confident, determined outlook

  • Resilience - the ability to cope with rejection
