Our awesome client is a planning software for marketing, product, and finance teams that leverages their real-time competitor data to help guide key decisions. They are tackling a $21bn market.

Companies today are flying blind because they only rely on their own historical data and don’t know how their metrics compare to their competitors.

The solution increases revenue for their users by accurately showing them how their metrics compare against similar companies so they can decide which KPIs to double down on and which to spend time fixing. This is all powered through an API-driven data co-op, which is an innovative and brand-new approach.

We are backed 

Participated in Y Combinator’s latest batch and raised an over-subscribed Seed round from top-tier Silicon Valley investors (details to be announced later).

Founders include the former CTO of Dun & Bradstreet ($15bn+ data company), an 8200 alum with 15 years of experience building big data products, and a former private equity investor.

Job Description

This is a ground floor opportunity to be one of the first engineers at Varos and shape our trajectory. You will experience what being at a scrappy startup is like. What you'll be doing described below one-day could look radically different the next. You will be empowered to identify opportunities that will help us grow and own it.

• Scope, design, implement and own end-to-end feature sets.

• Help architect core parts of our infrastructure from the ground up in a reliable way.

• Have autonomy to identify, conceptualize, and launch new initiatives.

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

The Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of experience working with modern programming languages like Python, Javascript, SQL, etc.

• Proven production experience with major cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience building data pipelines

• Passion and ability to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment.

• We don't care about college degrees, age, gender or anything else, just that you're a badass developer that wants to build something big

Technology

We have highly scalable data pipelines that process Terabytes of data every month, enrich data via integrations, and enable zero-latency queries all by maintaining data privacy. A large portion of the technical work is dealing with complex data normalization across companies and integrations, all in real-time. Back-end mainly built with Python and SQL (using Snowflake and AWS). In the front-end, users get a dashboard built in React.
